I seem to normally write my blogs with a cuppa in hand, so not to disappoint, a fresh cuppa has just been brewed as I reminisce over last nights session….
Last night was a running session with Claire which kicked off about 6:30pm and our warm up… well… was up a bloody big hill!
A bit of sprinting then took place and it was good to feel the progression I’ve made and it reinforces the benefits I am feeling and why I need to continue doing this, the future benefits are endless πͺπββοΈ
Right I digressed…. Well when I say bloody big hill it wasn’t as big as the next hill, I knew something was coming as we were running downhill and then we turned and saw it! Jesus, it was certainly the biggest hill I’ve ever tried to run up and I made it about 3/4 of the way up before having to stop for a breather and a stretch. I will add at this point that I did feel faint and a little sick, however not too put off that in 4 weeks time I’ll run up it without stopping! Or maybe I was more light headed than I thought! π€ (it’s the main stretch between km’s 2 and 3!)
After some recovery and some much needed downhill I tackled the 3rd hill and boy was it good to reach the top without stopping π
We ran back to Roundhay and I certainly feel like I’m back in the zone πͺπββοΈποΈββοΈ
