I’m currently in our hotel waiting to go to sleep before my first half marathon.
The prospect of this scares the shit out of me, more probably who’d have though this fat bird from the valleys would now be in a position of aiming to run 13.1 miles?
This is the person who used to forget her hockey kit on purpose as not to have to practice at lunch times for the hockey team!
A strange thought that in a little over 2 years I’ve gone from walking to potentially running that far.
Training has been ok, not dead on plan. It I’ve managed upto 10 miles so far. My brother in law said tonight that the last 5k is just the cooldown 😂
I have my kit all ready and music on my iPod with the odd motivational snippet from both Claire and my wife. I’ve not listened to these but hoping that these randomly playing will give me the extra push. If not, no doubt I’ll get a chuckle out of them!
Breakfast has been ordered to arrive between 6:30 and 7am to allow us to get to the start for 8ish before setting off at 9am.
I reckon I could go below 3 1/2 hours but to be honest, anything is going to be a PB!
So with that thought, I’ll sign off until tomorrow 😀
